This Corporate Governance Framework (the Framework) sets out the arrangements through which the Probation Board for Northern Ireland (PBNI) is directed, controlled and held to account. It describes the structures, roles, responsibilities and systems which underpin effective governance and support the delivery of organisational objectives.
It describes the governance structures that have been established and sets out the roles and responsibilities of those charged with governance. It details the key internal control, risk management and corporate governance support arrangements which apply to the delivery of the PBNI’s Corporate and Business Plans and outlines the Board’s role as the accountability body of the PBNI, and the Board’s key relationships with other organisations and/or public bodies.
