Life as a member of Administrative staff

As part of the Administration team, you will have a key role in supporting the  business of the organisation at many different levels.

As an Administrative Officer, you will be providing essential support by handling a wide range of office tasks and procedures. Depending on the team you join within Probation your tasks can vary widely, allowing you to learn a variety of new skills to take forward with you.

You will typically be responsible for managing schedules, flow of information, record keeping and filing, data entry and processing along with financial and accounting support.

You could be placed within an office to support the administration needs of a geographically based probation team or with a specialist team such as the Substance Misuse Court team. While there are common duties you will carry out wherever you are based, some of the administration roles you can be placed in allow for learning more specialised skills.

Within the Probation Board you can also be transferred temporarily to help out other teams within the organisation, which can keep your day-to-day work interesting and provides opportunities for you to learn new skills daily.
